Unisex NY ISA Restroom Signs for Hotels
Hotels are transitory places that see new guests every day. What don't change are your bathroom floor plans.
If you are building or renovating your hotel, you may know that developers often install such restrooms to save costs and space. Elderly persons whose mobility issues require assistance often benefit where a partner is able to help them. Transgender advocacy groups are increasingly promoting unisex restrooms, believing that they eliminate harassment and other inconveniences conventional bathrooms present.
It's all about taking good care of the people who pass through your hotel, and as their needs and standards change along with the needs and standards of the community at large, you will want to make the options clear to all. Whether you're wanting to accommodate more people in less bathrooms, offer an extra bathroom to the public (unisex bathroom/gender-neutral bathroom), or provide a restroom catering to the specific needs of young families (family bathroom), we have an array of signs to stem any confusion and make everything clear.
The state of New York has its own unique set of rules and regulations in regards to ADA and fire/building code compliance. In 2014, the state of New York signed a bill that requires a new ISA (International Symbol of Accessibility) to be displayed wherever the symbol is required (see Bill A09934 for full details). What does this mean for you? If you are in the state of New York and are installing new signs that depict the ISA, the new style is required. Whether it's male bathroom signs, female bathroom signs or unisex bathroom signs, if the ISA is present, it must be the new symbol that complies with Bill A09934.
All of our Unisex NY ISA restroom signs are guaranteed to meet both national ADA guidelines and New York fire and building codes. We're so confident in the quality and compliance of our signs, we back each one with our ADA Compliance Guarantee: If at any time an inspector finds one of our signs to be non-compliant, we will replace it completely free of charge. We worry about ADA compliance so that you don't have to.
