California law requires all hotels, motels, and bed and breakfast inns to post the California Human Trafficking Model Notice conspicuously near the public entrance or another location clearly visible to guests and employees. This important signage aids in raising awareness, informing victims of their rights, and providing vital hotline contact information.
While there is no statutorily mandated poster size, state guidance recommends a minimum of 8.5” x 11” or larger to ensure high visibility. Notices must be posted in English and Spanish. Additionally, in counties covered by the federal Voting Rights Act language assistance provisions—including Alameda, Los Angeles, Orange, Sacramento, San Diego, San Francisco, San Mateo, and Santa Clara—a third language must also be included, specifically the most widely spoken language other than English and Spanish in that county. |
