Sign Installation on an In-ground Post
Tools & Hardware Required
- Phillips-head screwdriver
- Adjustable wrench (OR) 1/2″ wrench
- 5/16″-18 x 1-1/2 Bolts (Quantity of 2)
- 5/16″-18 Hex nuts (Quantity of 2)
Installation Steps
- Line up the two holes on the parking sign to your selected holes on the in-ground post, ensuring that the sign is right-side up and facing the parking space.e
- Slide each bolt thru the face of the sign and the in-ground post, then loosely screw on the hex nut from the back side of the post.
- Using a Phillips-head screwdriver and wrench, securely tighten each bolt and hex nut.
*To replace currently installed parking signs, use a screwdriver and adjustable wrench to remove the bolt/nut and remove the sign. Then install the new parking sign(s) using the screwdriver and adjustable wrench with the removed or new hardware and tighten securely.
Sign Installation on a Movable Base & Post Set
Tools & Hardware Required
- Phillips-head screwdriver
- Adjustable wrench (OR) 1/2″ wrench
- 5/16″-18 x 1-1/2 Bolts (Quantity of 2)
- 5/16″-18 Hex nuts (Quantity of 2)
Installation Steps
- Align and thread the "bottom" sign post with the center hole in the base. Once the post is threaded in, align the top post section and insert to the bottom post until the "spring ball" is in place.f
- Line up the two holes on the parking sign to your selected holes on the 48″ post, ensuring that the sign is right-side up and facing the parking space.
- Slide each bolt thru the face of the sign and the post, then loosely screw on the hex nut from the back side of the post.g
- Using a Phillips-head screwdriver and wrench, securely tighten each bolt and hex nut.h
Sign Installation on a Concrete or Brick Wall
Tools & Hardware Required
- Hammer drill (eye & ear protection is recommended)
- 3/16″ Masonry drill bit
- 5/16″ Hex socket/bit or wrench
- Marker
- Level
- 1/4″ x 1-3/4″ Tapcon concrete screws (Quantity of 2)
- 1/4″ Flat Washers (Quantity of 2)
Installation Steps
Do NOT install on a building/walls where landscaping installation space is available. Signs can only be installed directly on a hotel building when there is no landscaping area for an in-ground post or a moveable base.
- Determine where the parking sign will be installed. Position the sign against the wall, ensuring the sign is level. Then using the holes in the sign as a guide, mark the center of each hole. Set the sign to the side.
- Using the hammer drill & 3/16″ masonry bit, drill the marked holes to a minimum depth of 2-1/4″.iBe sure to clean out all concrete dust and debris when finished drilling.
- Place a washer on each Tapcon screw, align the sign over the drilled holes ensuring the sign is level and facing the correct direction. Then using a 5/16″ socket or wrench, insert and tighten each Tapcon screw with washer until snug.
DO NOT over tighten as the holes could become stripped.
Sign Installation on a Sealed Concrete Wall
Tools & Hardware Required
- Razor knife or scissors
- Double-sided foam tape
- Clear silicone adhesive
- Caulking gun
- Level
Installation Steps
- Determine where the parking sign will be installed. Ensure that the concrete is sealed as this installation method will not work on unsealed concrete walls.
- Wipe down the concrete wall with a clean cloth to remove any dust/debris.
- Apply two (2) vertical strips of double-sided foam mounting tape to the backside of the sign approximately 1/2″ from each sign edge.
- Using the silicone adhesive in a caulking gun, apply a "zig-zag" bead of silicone adhesive on the back of the sign in-between the two holes and the foam tape strips.
- Remove the protective line from the foam tape.jCarefully hold the sign up to the wall ensuring it is level, then press firmly into place.
